Growing demands for the reliability and efficiency of power generation assets have made the management of the Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) indicator a key component of maintenance strategies in thermal power plants. This article presents a structured review of Polish and international literature, with emphasis on publications from 2010 to 2024 and supplemented by foundational works, standards, and industry reports. The review covers methods for measuring, analysing, and improving MTBF, MTTF (Mean Time To Failure), and MTTR......

A resource-aware fuzzy-supervised economic model predictive controller (RA-FS-EMPC) is proposed for secondary frequency regulation of a hydro-dominant single-area system under support of deloaded wind, curtailed photovoltaic (PV) and rate-limited nuclear output, and operated at 50 Hz. The formulation clearly retains the nonminimum-phase water-starting dynamics of the hydro turbine and provides varied magnitude and slew limits for the four actuators. The move-blocked allocation aim and resource penalties are scheduled by two transparent fuzzy inputs, normalized frequency severity and projected net-imbalance volatility. 4. A projected-gradient solver with a set budget that produces a.......

Liquefaction induced by the 2018 Palu Earthquake caused changes in geotechnical conditions in Jono Oge Village, Sigi Regency, while the microstructural characteristics of post-liquefaction soil at the particle scale remain limitedly investigated. This study aims to identify and compare the microstructural characteristics of liquefaction-affected and unaffected soils and to interpret their relationship with soil shear strength. Five samples were investigated, namely BH01 as the reference sample and BH02–BH05 as liquefaction-affected samples, using grain-size analysis, direct shear testing, and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) observations.......

The Surumana River, located in South Banawa Subdistrict, Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi, is one of the rivers experiencing sedimentation problems, as evidenced by a series of recurring floods. This sedimentation process can cause changes in the riverbed elevation, which may potentially affect the river's flow capacity. This study aims to analyze changes in the Surumana River's riverbed elevation due to sedimentation based on HEC-RAS modeling results, as well as to evaluate its response to variations in design flood discharge at each cross-section. Modeling was performed using a one-dimensional (1D) hydraulic and sediment transport approach with HEC-RAS 6.6 software, on a river section approximately.......

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 16 ~ Issue 10
The utilization of aggregates from the Labuan River, Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi, as pavement materials must be supported by research regarding the material characteristics and its capability to maintain asphalt mixture performance. The material sampling distance from the river mouth can exhibit differences in material characteristics at each sampling point due to transport, abrasion, and sedimentation processes, which potentially influence the durability of the Asphalt Concrete-Wearing Course (AC-WC) mixture. Testing was conducted using aggregates from 5 sampling points located at distances of 100 m, 200 m, 300 m, 400 m, and 500 m from the Labuan River mouth, combined with 60/70 penetration.......
