Abstract

In recent years, psychoactive substances (PSAs) have been increasingly consumed by young people and adults around the world, including in Brazil. In the context presented, among the (APAs) produced for therapeutic purposes, methylphenidate is highlighted for being a drug that belongs to the group of medication known as amphetamines, which are classified as central nervous system (CNS) stimulants. In Brazil, this substance is used in large numbers and is becoming increasingly known, becoming one of the most sold and consumed medications in recent years, since its commercialization was approved in the national territory. Among the users, the students are the ones who generally...........

Abstract

Depressive disorder or depression is a disease that affects thousands of people. In the acute phase of the disease, it is very common to be prescribed antidepressants of several classes, therefore the main classes were highlighted: 1) Selective Serotonin Recaption Inhibitors (SSRIs); 2) Tricyclic antidepressants. OBJECTIVE: To survey the most used classes of drugs. METHODS: We analyzed articles contained in Scielo, Pubmed, Google Academic and Ministry of Health websites. RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS: The psychopharmacology of depression has evolved a lot, increasing the number of drugs available in the market. Where the pharmacokinetics of substances can alter the bioavailability and adverse effects, becoming a preponderant factor for not adhering to therapy. CONCLUSION: Through the studies evaluated, it is concluded that despite the controversy, the class of selective serotonin inhibitors (SSRI) comprises the first line of choice in depressive treatment.

Abstract

In the current study, the effects of treating the Musa acuminata stem fiber (MASF) on the tribological performance of polyester composite were studied against polished stainless steel counterface using a computerized pin on disc (POD) machine under dry contact condition. Wear and friction characteristics of alkaline treated, silane treated and untreated MASF (MASF-AT, MASF-ST and MASF-UT) reinforced polyester composites were evaluated at different sliding sliding speed (1.5, 2.0, and 2.5 m/s), applied normal loads (15, 20, 25, and 30 N), and applied loads (30–100 N) and for a constant sliding time of 10 min under dry condition. SEM observations were performed on the worn surfaces of the composites to examine the damage features. Wear resistance, and friction coefficient results were presented against the operating parameters. The results revealed that test parameters significantly influenced the wear resistance...........

Abstract

This paper aims to highlight the impact of globalization on the evolution of the unemployment rate in the CEMAC and WAEMU zones. The econometric analysis is based on panel data for the period 1991 to 2019. To analyze our data, we opted for the GMM estimator in Blundel and Bond's (1998) system, as it combines the first difference equations with the level equations. Overall, our results show that the level of unemployment in the past year [Z(-1)] has a positive and significant impact at the 1% level on the current year's unemployment rate. This means that the level of past unemployment contributes to the increase in unemployment in the current year. These results are identical in the CEMAC and WAEMU zones. We found that globalization through investment via FDI and globalization through trade openness have a negative and significant impact on the unemployment rate in the CEMAC and WAEMU zones; while globalization through debt has no effect on the unemployment rate in these two zones, but has a positive impact in the CEMAC and a negative impact in the WAEMU. However, globalization through portfolio investment has a positive impact on the unemployment rate in both economic areas. Thus, globalization has a mixed impact on the unemployment rate in the CEMAC and WAEMU zones.

Abstract

The Present work was to develop a simple, fast, accurate, precise, reproducible, Reverse Phase High Performance Liquid Chromatographic Method for simultaneous estimation of Valsartan and Sacubitril in pure drug form. Valsartan passes acidic tetrazole systemic which acid group play important role bind to angiotensin II receptor (AT1 receptor subtype) and acts as antagonist. Therefore, it also known as angiotensin II Blocker. Sacubitril is prodrug metabolized by de-ethylation and gives active compound as Sacubitril at (ACE Inhibitors) inhibit the neurolysin enzyme necessary for lowering blood pressure. Valsartan/Sacubitril at are potent antihypertensive decrease risk of cardiovascular & hospitalization in patient with heart failure. These are several methods to develop simultaneous estimation............
